James Merrell is a photographer based in England, though often found in the silver tube of an airplane travelling somewhere on assignment for the numerous projects commissioned by magazines, design groups, and agencies he works with. This appetite for diverse challenges is reflected by the innumerable examples of his work found inside international publications and brochures, alongside the many books published including his work. Primarily his photographs reflect a fascination with people along with where and how they live, what they wear, eat, delight in, and look at. A long believer in the creative possibilities of close collaboration this has resulted in the opportunity of working with some of the most interesting and talented individuals in their fields. Though somewhat of a workaholic he is occasionally known to relax and is fond of his houseboat and motorcycles.
