Hans Blomquist

Hans' story began in Älmhult, Sweden were at the age of 16 he started to work as a graphic designer at IKEA. A few years later he became the art director for the IKEA catalog. After working his way up to a senior art director position at IKEA he moved to London and was the senior art director for the home catalouges of Marks & Spencer as well as John Lewis. Several years later Hans ventured out on his own as a stylist and has since been a freelance art director and stylist for many companies around the globe. He is the author of four interior books published by Ryland Peters and Small in the UK. For his lastest book, Inspired by Nature, Hans photographed, styled and art directed the entire project.

Hans' work is continuously inspired by nature and natural elements. It is often very personal and never aims to be too perfect. For Hans, good styling and art direction is about being open and letting creative moments happen naturally.
